Ana Gonzalez

Executive Director- Teach for America

A Rio Grande Valley native, Ana D. Gonzalez has been an educational leader for over twenty-five years. She currently serves the RGV community as executive director of a local, education leadership non-profit, Teach For America, an organization which brings aspiring teacher leaders into our Valley schools to ensure that all students receive an excellent education, meet key academic milestones and are on a life changing trajectory filled with possibilities.


Ana simultaneously stewards the Teach For America mission as the Texas Collective Peer facilitator where she supports the statewide work alongside four other regions, San Antonio, Austin, Houston and Dallas Fort-Worth. Prior to coming to Teach For America, Ana served in public education for eighteen years, where she led in various capacities including teacher, principal and district administrator. Additionally, Ana D. Gonzalez serves as a board trustee for the Museum of South Texas History, on the advisory councils for the South Texas College Organizational Leadership Bachelor Program and the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley Pk-16 Initiative.
